With these tips, you can read unlimited free articles on BostonGlobe.com.

Most of the methods below, you can still get past The Boston Globe paywall without having to install any browser extension, like the popular Disable JavaScript extension.

It is advisable not to install too many browser extensions.

Firstly they could slow down your browser.

Secondly, they can be a threat to your online privacy and security.

For this tutorial, I try to avoid using the browser extension where possible.

By the way, Google Chrome Incognito window, the popular Bypass Paywall extension, and even the 12 Feet Ladder is 'too low' to overcome The Boston Globe paywall.

Now, let's find out the various workable ways on how to read Boston Globe for free by avoiding its paywall.

1. Reader view/Reader mode

This is the easiest way to get around The Boston Globe paywall.

In Firefox, it is called Reader View, and in Chrome it is called Reader Mode.

The Reader View function is readily available in the Firefox browser.

The good thing about the Reader View, it gives you a tidy and clutter-free page.

It strips away buttons, ads, background images, and videos.

MOZILLA FIREFOX BROWSER:

For Firefox, it is located at the address bar.

The small gray color Reader View icon is a symbol of a page with lines.
