If it is still not archived, then you have to wait for it to load and archive the article.

1. The third way is when you are at The Athletic homepage or from the search engine results pages.
2. Right click on the article title.
3. The context menu box pops up, move your mouse cursor from "Archive" to "Archive link" and "Search link".

2. Bypass Paywalls Clean extension
This is another easy way to get past The Athletic paywall with a browser extension and it works for both Firefox and Chrome browser.
MOZILLA FIREFOX BROWSER:
1. Go to this page, click on "Add to Firefox" button.
2. A box pops up, click on the "Add" button.
3. Once it is installed, you can see the Bypass Paywall Paywalls Clean icon (white outline of a newspaper symbol) on your toolbar.
4. Go to The Athletic homepage.
5. At the toolbar, the extension icon has a blue color box with the word "OFF" on top of it.
6. Click on this "OFF" box, and a box pops up.
7. Click in the blue color toggle button, and it changes to orange color so is the "OFF" box, but now the word "OFF" has changed to "ON".
