1. Reader View

Reader View is a Firefox feature that removes items like: buttons, ads, background images, and videos from the page.

So you can have a clean clutter-free page with just the main content.

When you visit each individual page of any website, the Reader View icon (inactive is gray in color) will appear in the address bar.

When you visit the homepage of the sites with ad blocker detection message, the Firefox Reader View built-in tool is not available.

As I have just mentioned above, it will only appear for each individual page of the website.

For instance, if you visit Business Insider homepage, or The Independent homepage with this method you CANNOT get rid of the adblock detecting problem.

But if you click any of the articles from this site via a link or from the Google Search Result page (SERP), then you CAN use this method to stop adblock detection

Now, let's find out how to use Reader View tool to overcome site pages with adblock detection.

1.Click on the "Reader View" gray color icon (symbol of a piece of paper with text), which is located at the address bar.

How To Bring Back Sidebar Scroll

To bring back the sidebar scroll, different website needs different way of doing it.

The timing of pressing down the Escape button on your keyboard is crucial.

When you press the button a little too fast or too slow, the adblocker detection message will popup.

If it fails, just try it again, I am sure it can work.

This is what you do:

1. Just as the article starts to appear, you quickly press down on the "Esc" (Escape)  button of your keyboard.

2. Hold down the button for about ten seconds or so.

3. Then let go of your finger.

4. Now you should be able to view the full article as it is without the adblocker detection reminder.

5. To read the next story or article, just repeat as you have done; quickly press on the "Esc" button before the next article is fully loaded.

Special Issue: Gibberish Text:

The other day I came across a site which detected my ad-blocker.

And it blocked its article with this pop-up:

how to overcome adblock detection

I did not turn off my ad blocker, and I tried to read the article with Method One (via Reader View) and the Method Four (via No Style) as explained above.

With these two methods, I can only read the first paragraph of the article.

The rest of the content of the article is written in gibberish text, as shown below.

To fix this problem, I tried using Method Three (disable Javascript).

This time it works like magic. (see image below)
