How To Set Up UltraSurf With FireFox 2023

Updated January 2023: Forget about this tutorial. 

You DO NOT need to set up your Firefox to use UltraSurf anymore.

You DO NOT have to meddle with the Firefox proxy settings.

The new Ultrasurf, you just install the software Ultrasurf (Windows Client).

Right away, you can use it for both Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browser.

For Google Chrome, you can also install an Ultrasurf extension.

This post is about how to set up UltraSurf with FireFox.so you can view blocked YouTube videos or to access any blocked websites in your country.

By default, UltraSurf proxy is configured for only either Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.

But you can use it with FireFox browser.

Back in those days, on the UltraSurf homepage, it provided a link to download the FireFox add-on.

The link has already been removed, though the write-up is still there.

This original tutorial was written way back in the year 2013, and I had it updated in the year 2017.

All those years, the link was still working.

Now, if you google, you can find there are sites where they recommended software called UltraSurf Firefox Tool and UltraSurf add-on.

I strongly advise you NOT to use these so-called UltraSurf extension.

They could either not in working condition or worst, they could be hidden with malicious malware.

It is best you avoid installing these dubious software.

How To Set Up UltraSurf With FireFox

Now I am going to share with you the safe and workable way to set up UltraSurf with FireFox.

PART ONE: Install UltraSurf

After you have installed UltraSurf, you need to set up the FireFox connection settings for it to work.

PART TWO: Configure FireFox Network Settings

This is how you do it:

1. Open your FireFox browser.

2. Click on "Tools" on the menu bar at the top of your computer screen.

3. A menu drops down, and you click on "Options".

4. Scroll down the page until you see the last section titled "Network Settings".

5. Click on "Settings" button.

6. A box pops up called "Connection Settings".

7. Under "Configure Proxy Access to the Internet", select "Manual proxy configuration" by clicking on the circle in front.

8. In "HTTP Proxy" box, type: 127.0.0.1

9. In the "Port" box next  to it, type: 9666

10. Remember to check the small box in front of "Use this proxy server for all protocols" by clicking on it.

11. A tick sign will appear in the box.

12. Finally click the "OK" button.

13. Close the box by clicking on the "X" sign.

14. Close the "Options" tab as well.

15. That's all.

Now you are all set to use UltraSurf with FireFox to access blocked YouTube videos or visit any websites anonymously.

Remember first you have to open your UltraSurf.

Then you open your FireFox browser as usual and do your search.

Now you can confirm that you are surfing anonymously, by checking your IP address now.

Go to WhatIsMyIPAddress site.

It should show you that you are now accessing the Internet with a IP address which is not yours.

To stop using UltraSurf proxy service, you click on the "Exit" icon.

Note: Then you must remember to reset back your FireFox Network Settings.

Or else you won't be able to use your FireFox browser.

To do that, you go to: Tools >> Options>> Network Settings >> Settings .

Under "Configure Proxy Access to to the Internet", select "No Proxy" by clicking on the small circle in front.

Then click on "OK" button. 

That's all.
