How To Convert Personal Account To Facebook Page

For the uninitiated there are two kinds of Facebook account.
1. Personal account
2. Facebook Page account


A Personal account is for non-commercial use. It means it is not for business purpose. It is all about you and yourself. 

Facebook Page looks similar to a personal account, but it has tools for businesses, brands and organizations.

You still need a personal profile to have Facebook Page. You can many Facebook Pages. In other words, you still need to open a personal Facebook account first, before you can create a Facebook Page for your physical company/club or some other online business.

When you convert or move your personal account to a Facebook Page, it will transfer your current profile picture and add of all your friends and followers as people who like your Page.

Your account's username will become the username for your Page, and the name associated with your personal account will become your Page's name.

Here is how you convert your personal Facebook to a Facebook Page account:

1. Go to Profile to Business Page Migration at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php?migrate

2. Your usual Facebook Login page to your Personal account will appear. Sign in.

3. Now a page appears with this remark:


Together with six main options below for you to choose: Local Business or Place - Company, Organization or Institution - Brand or Product - Artist, Band or Public Figure - Entertainment - Cause or Community.

4. Click on the option you want, and then choose your category and then click click 'Get Started' button.

5. A warning box will pop up reminding you that you will lose all data associated to your personal account and this action is not reversible.

6. Anyway, as you can see in the box above, there is a link which says: Download my personal profile data to facebook.

7. You can do this by clicking at the upside down triangle symbol on top right hand corner of your Facebook page.

8. There will be  drop down menu, and you click on 'Settings'.

9. It will open a page. Now you click on the link: 'Download a copy of your Facebook data' which is right below General Account Settings.

9. It will open another new page. Click on the green color 'Start My Archive' button.

10. A box pops up and you need to enter your password and click the 'Submit' button.

11. A box will pop up to say: 'It may take a little while for us to gather your photos, wall posts, messages, and other information. We will then ask you to verify your identity in order to help protect the security of your account.

12. Click on the blue color 'Start My Archive' button.

13. Another box will pop up to say: 'We are gathering your information and will send an e-mail to (your email address) when it is ready for download'.

14. Click the 'Okay' button.

15. You can find the info in your email in box by clicking on the provided link.

16. Then you click on the green color 'Download Archive' button. 

17. You need to re-enter your password to get your Facebook data.

This download contains your profile information, you should keep it secure and be careful when storing, sending or uploading it to any other services.

*Note: Some of you might experience this problem, where it says:

Migration Failed
The migration has failed, we are working on a fix right now and please come back later.


Don't worry, just click and try again. It should work.
