Backup BlueHost Files And MySQL Databases With Site Backup Pro

|
You can do a full backup of your Bluehost server files and MySQL databases with its Site Backup Pro.

This Site Backup Pro is free all Bluehost users.

The paid version is called Site Backup Pro Pro.

Update 2019: This tutorial was originally written back in year 2014.

From what I read from its site, there are some changes to its functions.

Now for this free tool, you can only download: Full CPanel Backup, Home Directory, Website Files and MySQL Databases.

But strangely, you can restore Email Messages only!

I suggest you ignore this outdated tutorial and also this free Bluehost backup function.

1. Log into BlueHost account.

2. Go to cPanel and look for Site Backup Pro listed under File Management section.

3. Click on it.

4. It will open a new window where you can see: “Backup and Restore Basic Free”.

5. Click on the "Backup and Restore" button.

6. Next, it will show you five options: Website Files, Home Directory, Email Messages, MySQL, and Full cPanel Backup.

7.  Click on "Download" option under “Website Files”.

8. You have two options to configure: backup date and the file type.

9. Use the drop-down menu to select the appropriate date of the backup you wish to use. (weekly, monthly, etc)

10. As for the type of compressed file, you can choose either "TAR (.tar)" or "ZIP (.zip) Archive".

11. Then click on the "Download Now" button.

12. Repeat the same process for the other four options.

13. After you have finished downloading all the five options, it is done.

14. Finally you'll be given a dialog with a link to download your files.

15. You can download and store the backup files and database into your external hard-drive for safe keeping.

In future, if your site breaks down, use this backup to restore it back to again.

So, do it now.

Do the backup with Bluehost Backup Pro.
