Dell Inspiron Disable Touchpad Key Not Working?

|
Remember, the last time I showed you how to disable Touchpad for Dell laptop?

But the problem with that tip is, each time when you restart your computer, the problem comes back again. Meaning, the touch pad is NOT disabled. And you have to disable the Touchpad all over again.

Note: Do NOT follow that tip anymore. If your Dell Touchpad key (the key beside key F12) is NOT working, this is what you do:

1. Go to Start. Then click Computer.

2. Right click on it. Select Properties.

3. Click on Device Manager on the top left-hand corner.

4. A Device Manager menu box will open. Click on the small triangle beside Mice and other devices, to expand the list.

5. Right click on Dell Touchpad. Then click Uninstall.

6. Restart your computer.

7. Install a new Dell Touchpad driver. Go to this link below  to get your driver.

http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats?DriverId=5PF9V&FileId=2731102123

Or you can Google dell touchpad driver for inspiron n5010, n4030 or whatever you model is.

As for me, I'm using Dell Inspiron N4030, I got my touchpad driver from Softpedia at: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/KEYBOARD-and-MOUSE/ALPS/Dell-Inspiron-N4030-Notebook-Alps-Touchpad-Driver-A01.shtml

8. After downloading the driver, double click on the icon.

9. And if you using Windows 7, chances it will ask you "Do you want th following program to make changes to his computer?". Click "Yes".

10. And then proceed from there and follow the on-screen installation instructions.

11. After finished installing  the new Touchpad driver, restart your computer.

12. Then try pressing on the so-called hot key or the Disable Touchpad key (the one beside key F12).
