How To Backup Registry Windows 7 Easy Tutorial You Can Understand

Below is an easy-to-follow tutorial on how to backup Registry Windows 7.
 
The settings in the registry control much of what makes the Windows ticks.

In other words, it is important to have it working correctly at all times.

It is wise to backup the Windows Registry, before you want to make any changes to it.

If you have fully backup the Windows registry, and if you screwed up when making changes to the registry, you can undo them right away.

Surprisingly, Microsoft doesn't provide a Registry Editor backup function.

So you need to do it yourself.

Note: This backup Windows Registry tutorial can be used for any version of Windows, including Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows Vista, and Windows XP.

1. Click "Run...". Type the word: regedit in the box provided. Click "OK" button.

2.  If you turn on your User Account Control settings, then you will see a box pops up.
You need to click on the "Yes" button.

3. Next, right click on the word "Computer".

4. Now click on "Export".

5. A box pops up, choose a location to save the registry backup file.

Note: Just save it on the Desktop for easy access, if you encounter problems when you are cleaning your registry later and need to use the file to restore registry data.

6. You can name anything to the File Name for your backup file, as long as you can remember. (my example below, I called it my full registry.)

7. Click on the "Save" button.

You should see the saved file with the icon that looks like a broken up Rubik's cube in front of a sheet of paper, as shown below:
